About me

I can’t believe it has been five years since I started Flackers Ltd.

In the main, this year has been spent working for Ben Richardson at The Capture Agency to design and print a limited-edition hardback book – Sydney Opera House, An Engineer’s Tale. The book comprises the memoirs of Sir Jack Zunz (Arup) who led the team responsible for building the roof of this iconic landmark. I am very proud to have had the opportunity to work on this project.

With 26 years’ experience in the design and print industry in a large company, my role developed from designer to team manager and leader. My career has taken me from drawing board to desktop publishing, all the while I revel in sharpening my design and technical skills.

My passion is for good, clean design and layout.  My skills include design for print and on-screen projects.

In my spare time I play drums, and I have obtained Trinity Guildhall Grade 4 Drum Kit. I am taking a break from grading, while continuing to have lessons in learning to play in different styles ranging from jazz to good old rock!

I also enjoy learning to speak various languages (French, Spanish and Italian). This has mainly been achieved through the Michel Thomas learning programme, which I would recommend to anyone setting out to learn a language. Most recently, I have been in competition with my other half to get the longest learning streak in French on Duolingo.
